It is important to note that I got it mid-battle, about 5 seconds after I got a gold glim (and was waiting for the timer to count down to 0) and immediately after an ally got a normal glim. I finally got it today after another 25 minutes of grinding. However, I relied almost exclusively on allies and jackpot to collect my glims, which is why I think I still don't have the trophy, even after collecting an additional 100-200 glims myself just for this trophy after finishing everything else. I just believe that if all glims counted, I would have had the trophy a long time ago, solely by jackpot (which was the first merit I claimed once I had the chance) and allies alone. Nothing here is confirmed (unless others want to do so after me). * Remember, this advice is based on supposition and speculation.
* It is possible that the glim count is only checked at the end of battle, so don't grind until you see the trophy pop. * Attacking strong enemies with an AOE like Thunderstorm will also generate glims quickly, if it turns out that allies collecting glims count. There's a lot of variance, but 15 minutes of blocking can generate up to 50 or so glims, at a rough estimate.
* The turbans and sasquishes use weak AOE attacks frequently, which can be blocked for glims. * If you want to collect them yourself, then glims generated by defending are easier to collect and avoid having your allies take them from you. So, my advice to anyone who is not getting the Glim Reaper trophy: It doesn't prove that jackpot glims count. I strongly suspect glims gotten by jackpot/allies don't count, or else I would have gotten it a long time ago, as most of my glims were gotten this way.Īs for claims that the trophy popped for some people after the jackpot glims were grabbed, that could be because the glim count is only checked at the end of battle (hypothetically). I tried Solusseum / Thunderstorm, but my allies would always snag the glims instead of me - not to mention all the time wasted on cutscenes, as well as the fact that you can lose the S rank battle if you're not careful. I then cancel defending and grab it myself while allies are defending. The enemies cast snowstorm and earsplitter, generating glims quite frequently.
What I've been doing to farm it now is go into the crystal(snow) grotto and fight turbans and sasquishes. If not for that one, I would have had the platinum at 107 hours, including 1000 battles at 90 hours - for reference, as I'm slower than other people on here and I also let my save idle. I spent more time that that trying to generate gold glims and only generated 1, which bounced onto my ally who claimed it instead of Swaine.Īnyway, I still don't have the glim trophy and am at 110 hours. If you don't include the time I wasted trying to generate a gold glim, it only took me 30-45 minutes to get 5 scrolls of truth normally - the first 3 in 10-15 minutes, then the rest of the time for the final 2. The 100% steal strategy is much, much slower than doing it the straightforward way. and yeah i used the 100 procent steal change thread still took me hours took me hours to get 5 scrolls of truth and right after my 5th it pops. Its like a reward i got for suffering lol. Lol i unlocked both at the same time how rare is that lol? i think they are both mega glithed cause i collected at least 2 sometimes 5 each battle and still i didnt got 2000 earlier then 1000
